Badass Build Block Options (Rated for 700 whp, upgradable to 1000+ whp):

        The EMS Badass Build offers block options with a capacity of around 700 WHP, with the capability to exceed 1000 WHP with additional sleeves. choose between a new or used ST Block or MZR Block, or Bring Your Own Block (BYOB), as well as the option to add sleeves.

       What is the benefit of adding sleeves? Sleeving involves reinforcing the cylinder walls, reducing the risk of cylinder wall damage and increasing the engine’s capability to handle higher power levels, making it ideal for performance enthusiasts pursuing substantial horsepower gains.

OEM Components:

New OEM timing cover, oil pump, chain, gear, and guide.

Additionally:

1. New-pinned OEM crankshaft: Enhances reliability and stability. It prevents movement between the crankshaft and harmonic damper, reducing the risk of misalignment and ensuring consistent performance, especially under high-stress conditions.
2. New OEM valve cover, oil pan, and oil pickup tube, and rear main seal: By incorporating the New OEM valve cover, oil pan, oil pickup tube, and rear main seal into our engine assembly, we transform the long block into a complete sealed engine. This integration includes all essential external components, making it ready for straightforward installation in your vehicle.

Performance Pistons and Connecting Rods:

🚨 BACK IN STOCK NOTICE! 🚨 As of 7/30 The EMS High Compression 88mm Pistons are BACK IN STOCK!!! This affects all long block (rebuilds) and (new engine orders) using a (used Focus ST block) or a (used Mazda block). NOTE: We also have a limited number of 87.5mm high compression pistons available for brand new ST block engines only (not rebuilds).

1. Choose between standard 9.5:1 or high compression 10.0:1 MAHLE pistons. The difference between standard 9.5:1 and high compression 10.0:1 MAHLE pistons lies in the compression ratio. A 10.0:1 ratio means the air-fuel mixture is compressed more, offering increased power but may require higher-octane fuel and careful tuning for optimal performance.
2. Boostline I-beam rods for unparalleled strength. For us this was the obvious choice due to their enhanced strength, durability, and ability to handle increased horsepower.

Advanced Engine Modifications:

The EMS Badass Build comes standard with a new OEM head gasket, titanium retainers, and upgraded valve springs ensure optimal engine performance.

Additionally:

1. Keyed crank, sprocket, and damper: Ensure precise timing and reduce the risk of timing-related issues, optimizing performance and reliability under demanding conditions.
2. Balance shaft delete: Reduces rotational mass and improves engine response, minimizing vibrations for a more direct power delivery and enhanced performance.
3. 10 mm CA625+ head studs: Offer superior strength and durability compared to stock studs, providing enhanced clamping force for improved head gasket sealing under high-performance conditions.
4. King main and rod bearings: Offer superior durability, reduced friction, and enhanced load capacity compared to stock bearings. This upgrade ensures optimal engine reliability and performance.

Cylinder Head Upgrade:

1. Combine a new OEM cylinder head with optional bowl porting. pocket porting the cylinder head provides increased airflow, contributing to improved horsepower and torque.
2. Choose between Ford Racing Cams or the advanced performance of Kelford Cams. Upgrading cams enhances airflow, optimizing combustion efficiency and boosting overall engine power.
3. Rear Main Seal:
   Every EMS badass long block includes a brand-new OEM rear main seal as part of the build process to ensure proper crankshaft sealing and long-term reliability. If you’re looking for added strength and peace of mind under extreme conditions, we also offer an optional upgrade to the MAP billet rear main seal. This upgrade is available upon request and adds an extra layer of durability for customers pushing the limits of their build.

Engine Shipment Disclaimer

We offer commercial freight Shipping ($750 Each Way).

**Short block shipping is NOT included in the price. Shipping option are listed in drop-downs above (limited to the continental US.) Restrictions may apply based on residential area and shipper limitations. An EMS representative will reach out if these restrictions apply to your purchase.**

Engine Shipment Policy – Inspect Before Accepting

EMS is not responsible for any engine damage that occurs during shipping. Before accepting and signing your shipment, you must carefully inspect the pallet or crate for any visible damage. If there is any sign of damage that could have affected the engine, do not accept the shipment. Instead, refuse delivery and have it returned to EMS through the carrier. Finally, contact Susan at EMS to start the claims process. Always inspect your engine before signing the freight carriers Clear Delivery Recepit.

Important: The freight carrier is not automatically responsible for damages once the shipment is signed for. If you accept a damaged shipment, you take full responsibility for any damage, and neither EMS nor the carrier will be liable.

Engine Installation:

#1.) Base Install (Mustang/Focus)
EMS will install a base map provided by your tuner. You’ll pick up the car and complete your own break-in and e-tune later. (Fluids billed separately; pricing TBD by platform.)

#2.) Base Install + Turn Key “Out the Door”
EMS will complete the break-in and perform a final dyno tune before delivery. You pay for break-in and dyno time at pickup. (Live tuning cost not included.)

Break-In Details: 500 miles of proper street driving performed in-house ($1 per mile). Includes oil change & filter replacement, full fluid inspection & top-off, pump gas, and final health & performance inspection.

Dyno Tuning Cost: Remote tuning support is $150/hour. If you hit 4+ hours, full-day support is $650. In-house tuning is $100/hour.

Dyno Rental Cost: $350 for 2 hours ($175/hour). Optional live tuning is available with Ryan or Westley at $100/hour (must be scheduled in advance). Remote tuning support included (WiFi available). FWD & RWD only. AWD must be switchable to FWD.

Break-In Procedures: We recommend 500 miles of street driving with engine braking. Don’t be afraid to see some boost! Use 5w30 non-synthetic oil and a FL400S oil filter. At 500 miles, switch to your preferred oil.

Follow our guidelines for a smooth break-in, ensuring 500 miles of street driving with recommended oil and filter changes. Engine braking is encouraged during the 500 mile break in period. Always start with a base map from your tuner.
