Power by the Hour – 6R80 Billet Direct “B” Drum
If you’re pushing serious power through your 6R80 and using a transbrake, you’re probably familiar with a critical weak point — the factory “B” drum. Under high apply pressures, the OEM drum can balloon out, taking your transmission case with it. The Bluestreak Billet Direct “B” Drum was engineered specifically to stop that from happening.
This isn’t just a stronger part — it’s a smarter design. Made to handle the demands of high-horsepower builds, the billet drum features an extended drive surface that allows for 2 extra clutches in the stack. That means you’ll get up to 9 frictions in total — compared to 7 with Exedy/GPZ drop-ins and just 4–5 in stock setups. More frictions = more holding power = a transmission that stays together under launch.
