Engine Return and Warranty Policies Terms and Conditions
Engine Order Policy
All engine sales are final after 14 days from the purchase date. Cancellations within the first 14 days are subject to a pro-rated 20% cancellation fee.
Engine Warranty
Engineered Motorsport Solutions (EMS) engines, engine rebuilds, and short blocks come with a 1-year unlimited mile warranty covering the craftsmanship of the engine build. This warranty does not cover individual components such as the block, pistons, rods, or other engine parts, as EMS does not manufacture these components.
- If a component fails, EMS encourages customers to contact the part manufacturer for a warranty claim.
- If an issue is found after installation, EMS will require the engine to be returned for diagnosis to determine the root cause.
- If the failure is due to craftsmanship, EMS will cover repairs, engine removal and reinstallation, and shipping costs. No other expenses will be covered.
- If the engine is sent in for warranty repair but no issue is found, the customer is responsible for all shipping charges to and from EMS.
- If the warranty claim is denied, the customer is responsible for all shipping, removal, installation, and repair costs.
- The warranty is void if the engine has been opened by a third party.
- EMS is not responsible for failures caused by neglect, improper tuning, improper installation, or another part’s failure (e.g., a failed fuel injector or fuel pump).
- Customers must initiate a warranty claim via email before any decisions are made. Communication may continue by phone or email, but no warranty decisions will be finalized until the engine is inspected at EMS.
- All warranty work must be performed at EMS. There are no exceptions to this policy.
- The warranty is non-transferable and does not carry over if the vehicle is sold.
- Datalogs from the base calibration file and final revision calibration file must be sent to ryan@emsinc-tn.com or jessie@emsinc-tn.com using the logging parameters provided for the specific vehicle.
