EMS – Custom Tuning for the 2024+ S650 EcoBoost Mustang 2.3L via HP Tuners.

It’s Finally Tuning Day for 2024+ S650 EcoBoost Mustang Owners 🚀

It’s finally tuning day for all of you 2024+ S650 EcoBoost Mustang owners. After months of beta testing with HP Tuners using our shop’s S650, we’re excited to officially launch S650 EcoBoost tuning. Let me tell you — this platform has not disappointed.

S650 vs S550: A New Era for EcoBoost Mustang Power

This image captures the Engineered Motorsport Solutions (EMS) S650 EcoBoost Mustang at the drag strip during testing. The car is seen staged on the starting line with track signage from Summit Racing and Edelbrock in the background, emphasizing a professional motorsport environment. The photo showcases the new generation S650 Mustang equipped with EMS performance tuning, highlighting its aggressive stance and readiness for high-performance runs. The image’s purpose is to visually represent EMS’s real-world testing and racing development for their new S650 EcoBoost tuning program, reinforcing credibility, engineering excellence, and results-driven performance.

The new S650 EcoBoost Mustang is a huge step forward from the previous S550 generation. Here’s why:

  • The factory direct injection system now operates at higher pressure.
  • The S650 comes equipped with port injection from the factory.
  • A larger stock turbocharger and electronic wastegate hold boost far better than the S550’s pressure-based actuator.
  • Internally, the S650 engine uses stronger rods and pistons and has additional block bracing on the exhaust side.
  • The 10R80 transmission carries over and remains a proven performer for this setup.

The result? Better power, better drivability, and a lot more tuning headroom per dollar compared to the S550.

S650 EcoBoost Dyno Results

This image displays a dyno graph produced by Engineered Motorsport Solutions (EMS), showcasing power and torque results from tuning the new S650 EcoBoost Mustang. The graph, labeled “Tuned by Ryan Martin”, compares four different configurations: stock tune, 93 octane tune, E85 tune, and E85 tune with the factory air filter removed. Each curve illustrates the performance gains achieved through tuning, with horsepower and torque plotted against engine RPM. The data highlights the car’s improvement from approximately 304 whp and 368 wtq in stock form to over 421 whp and 489 wtq on E85. The purpose of this image is to provide clear, visual proof of EMS’s tuning results, demonstrating the significant power gains available through professional calibration using HP Tuners on the S650 EcoBoost platform.

Our test car features:

  • CVFab + EMS Race Intercooler
  • CVFab Downpipe
  • Ford Performance Catback Exhaust

Stock Tune Results: 304 whp / 368 wtq

93 Octane Tune – Tuned by Ryan

  • Output: 357 whp / 430 wtq
  • Gains: +53 hp / +62 wtq over stock
  • Boost: 23–24 psi (held to redline)
  • Stock boost: ~21–22 psi tapering to 18 psi up top

Ignition timing is conservative at just 3° peak — safe and street-ready. For the S550 to achieve similar power, a turbo upgrade was typically required.

Full E85 Tune – Tuned by Ryan

The S650 EcoBoost runs full E85 on the factory fuel system — no upgrades needed.

  • Boost: 26 psi
  • Output: 412 whp / 485 wtq
  • With factory air filter removed: 421 whp / 489 wtq

The DI system maintains 5,000 PSI across the pull, showing just how capable this new fuel system really is. On the S550, you’d need a full fueling overhaul to achieve similar results.

We’re currently torque-limiting this setup during testing — so there’s even more room to grow.

How to Get Your S650 Tuned

This image showcases the EMS-branded RTD (Remote Tuning Device) used for Engineered Motorsport Solutions (EMS) custom tuning services. The device, finished in EMS’s signature blue and black color scheme, is designed for seamless integration with HP Tuners software, allowing users to flash and datalog their vehicles directly from a smartphone or laptop. It represents the key hardware required for customers to access EMS’s S650 EcoBoost Mustang tuning and other EcoBoost platform calibrations. The purpose of this image is to visually highlight the professional-grade equipment that makes remote tuning simple, reliable, and accessible for EMS customers.

Getting your 2024+ S650 EcoBoost Mustang tuned is simple:

  1. Choose your EMS Custom Tune — Standard or Lifetime
  2. Purchase our HP Tuners RTD4 device with 4 credits
  3. Add your Tuning Add-on (Optional)

The RTD4 allows you to flash and datalog directly from your smartphone — no laptop required.

Tune Options:

  • Standard Tune: Includes revisions to complete the tune. $150 retune fee for future bolt-ons.
  • Lifetime Tune: Unlimited retunes, including turbo upgrades and built motors.

Optional:

  • Burble Tune Add-On ($100) – adds aggressive exhaust crackle, compatible with active exhaust cars.

Estimated Total Investment: $2,247 (intercooler, downpipe, tuning device, and custom tune — excluding catback).

Track Testing & Real-World Performance

This image shows an official track time slip documenting the Engineered Motorsport Solutions (EMS) S650 EcoBoost Mustang’s performance at the drag strip. The slip, dated October 10, 2025, records the car’s results during a quarter-mile run tuned by Ryan at EMS. The highlighted numbers indicate an eighth-mile time of 7.45 seconds at 96.17 mph and a quarter-mile time of 11.57 seconds at 117.83 mph. The purpose of this image is to provide verified proof of the vehicle’s real-world performance achieved with EMS’s custom tuning, demonstrating both the speed and consistency of the newly released S650 EcoBoost tuning package.

With over 40 dyno pulls, extensive street testing, and multiple track passes, here’s what we’ve seen so far:

  • 11.57 @ 117.8 mph in the ¼-mile on 18” radials, with no launch control.
  • Once transbrake and 60-foot times are optimized, the car will go even quicker.
  • Torque output is currently limited in the tune — expect 500+ ft-lbs soon.
  • Our long-term goal is a reliable 500 whp / 500 wtq setup on stock internals.

Final Thoughts

The 2024+ S650 EcoBoost Mustang proves that Ford’s latest generation is a true evolution. With factory fueling, turbo, and engine strength, it’s never been easier — or more exciting — to make big power safely.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to tune your S650, that time is now. HP Tuners support is live, and Engineered Motorsport Solutions has the experience to take your EcoBoost Mustang to the next level.
